Today was a day we took things easily, but we managed to get a lot done.

  • We had breakfast, while Patrise had a load of clothes washing – the white clothes.

  • After breakfast, we returned to the room for thirty minutes, while the white clothes were drying.

  • We returned to the laundry with the color clothes and started them washing.

  • We read in the room for about an hour, while the color clothes were drying.

  • Clothes now done, we walked downtown, stopping first at the Visitors’ Centre.

  • We stopped at a souvenir shop to purchase some items for family members.

  • We went to O’Shea’s Bar and Grill for lunch: Patrise had a bison burger, I had chicken wings.

  • We went from the restaurant and walked to the town’s museum. There we saw exhibits about the history of the town from prehistoric times until 20th century. It is a small museum, but it packs a lot of interesting history and context in its exhibits.

  • We walked toward the hotel with a detour for buying a sandwich, some drinks, and small desserts (blueberry bun and a small cinnamon bun), to take on our evening wildlife tour. We would not get food on the tour, and the restaurants might not be open, once we returned.

  • We returned to the hotel, in time to relax for 1-3/4 hours.

  • At 5:30pm, we made our way to the lobby to meet our evening tour bus.

  • The bus tour was almost four hours. We returned to make it to the hotel lounge, five minutes before the kitchen closed. She had a chicken sandwich, while I had fish tacos and carrot-ginger soup.

Here are many of my many, many pictures of the day all without comment or description.

Tomorrow, we leave Jasper at 8:30am for a several hour drive down the Icefields Parkway and ultimately to Lake Louise in Banff National Park. Tomorrow is also our daughter’s birthday and Victoria Day – a national holiday celebrating Canada’s independence from Great Brittain.
