Waiting for our couples' massage to begin
Waiting for our couples' massage to begin

This day would be a quiet and relatively uneventful one. We went to a local breakfast café named Bellagio. It had been recommended by a hotel concierge employee, Debbie. She was spot on; it was an excellent choice. We sat on the patio in a heated area. As we waited for our food, while seated across the street from the Vancouver Art Gallery, we watched the people going by. There was also activity on the art gallery’s Howe Street courtyard, as vendors were obviously setting up for some fair or festival of some sort. Here are some breakfast food and people photos.

After breakfast, we walked back to the hotel and browsed some outfits at one of the hotel stores. We returned to the room, to kill time for about 1-1/2 hours. Then, we walked to the Hyatt Hotel nearby, for a relaxing 90-minute couples’ massage. It was heavenly. We walked from the Hyatt past the Fairmont, to the London Drugs store. Patrise was experiencing a sore throat, and we wanted to get her some throat lozenges. We purchased those, headed back to the hotel, and then rested, read, and watched television for the remainder of the day.

Also, I made reservations for us to go to Vancouver Island and the city of Victoria on Tuesday. We will fly by seaplane from Vancouver to Victoria. We will wander around Victoria for a while. After doing so, we will take a 1-hour bus ride from Victoria to Nanaimo, where the ferries are. Then take a 1-1/2-hour ferry ride back to the mainland. From there, we will take another bus ride back to the Fairmont.
