We left Coopers Rock State Forest this morning, heading to Gettysburg, PA. We began by having a light breakfast of cheese toast and grapes. Our plan was to stop at a restaurant somewhere along the road. About an hour along the road, we stopped in LaVale, Maryland to eat at a Bob Evans. It was a change of pace from Cracker Barrel. We also found a Walmart to purchase a few replacement supplies and to get the RV's windshield wipers changed. The current ones were a real problem.
After the Walmart excursion, we got back on the road again with full bellies, new supplies, and new wipers. Although the skies threatened to rain, the rain held off and we arrived at the Gettysburg KOA site before 3pm. In doing so, we drove through three states. We left West Virginia, drove through Maryland and ended in Pennsylvania. Along the way, somewhere along I-68 East, in fact, we passed our 2,oooth travel mile.
We noted that western Maryland, although hilly, was not the mountainous terrain we experienced in its neighboring state of West Virginia. The hills were not as high. nor as sharp. And Western Maryland has more farms neatly nestled among its hills. I noted to Patrise that I guessed that this part of Maryland had greater economic activity, even though it is rural, because of the numbers of cell phone towers that dotted the landscape.
Later this afternoon, we played mini golf and then returned to our RV for a dinner of 15-bean soup and corn muffins. Dessert was bread budding with lemon sauce.
Here are some photos from today's travel.

Who knew that Maryland had wind farms?

Storm clouds in the horizon. We hope to get to Gettysburg before the rain starts.
