Today, we left Philadelphia and headed to New Haven, CT. We left Pennsylvania, entered New Jersey and then traveled in traffic through New York. Along the way, neither of us managed to get a photo of any sign welcoming us to either state.. However, it was a beautiful day and we did get photos of the countryside and really large rivers. We saw the Schukyll River leaving Pennsylvania, the Delaware River as we entered into New Jersey, and we crossed over the Hudson River entering into New York. Here are some of the photos that we did take.

The Hudson River is hidden behind a screen on the bridge.

We had a problem with the battery on the RV again, and we endeavored to find a replacement for it on our way to New Haven. That effort in and of itself was difficult, given the fact that all of the RV Centers were busy and we could not find anyone who could install the battery today. We left without a replacement battery and vowed to look for one tomorrow on our way to Nashua, NH. The battery is only necessary when we are not plugged into an electrical source like the ones at an RV Campground. It keeps the generator running and the refrigerator. When we stop and stay in a friend’s house or a hotel, the battery runs down and it fails to keep the generator started. It has been something that we have been challenged with the entire trip. Now, we think that getting a new battery might help. At least, we hope so!

We arrived in New Haven around 7pm and stopped to get some “apizza” at a local place called Pepe’s. It came to us highly recommended by a friend of ours. We then took the "apizza", as it is referred to New Haven, to the RV Campground and settled in for the night. We will only be here for an evening as we work our way toward Nashua, New Hampshire tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow, we will be more fortunate with getting photos of the welcome signs of Massachusetts and New Hampshire (smile).

Missed your visit to Connecticut by one day! Audrey and I were in New Britain that weekend for the funeral of my Great Aunt, Rose Ernesto. Related, I was born in Bridgeport, CT and grew up in Durham, CT. My Dad's side is from Laconia, NH (not far from Concord). Safe Travels, David and Audrey
