It is our second day at the Rodd Crowbush Resort and Spa and it got off to a bang with massages for both of us and a facial for Patrise. The Spa Manager at the resort worked to get us both in for the treatments that we wanted and requested when we checked in yesterday. Despite the chaos of her training 5 new hires and the Spa, like the other areas of the hotel just opening yesterday, she got us scheduled and we enjoyed the morning pampering ourselves. After the massage, we went back to our room and started working on projects that needed our attention. Patrise was also able to attend the majority of her sorority meeting before the connection was lost. Later, we went to Youtube, to watch the State Bar Ceremony in which she formally received the 2021 Randolph Thrower Lifetime Achievement Award for Advancing Minorities in the Profession. Patrise was actually given this great honor last year, but due to COVID, there was no in-person ceremony. This year's ceremony was live, and they gave the 2021 honorees their awards, along with those of the 2022 honorees. Since she could not attend, she asked her good friend Dawn Jones to accept the award for her. This was particularly apropos, since Patrise had encouraged Dawn to get involved with the State Bar and had supported Dawn on her journey to become only the second African American to hold the position of President of the State Bar of Georgia. Dawn's friend and mentor, Patrise, was the first, as many of you know. It was still heartwarming for Doug, to see how well-regarded his wife is in her profession.
We decided to order lunch from the Golf Clubhouse and have it delivered by room service. Talk about treating yourself! Doug had a dish called Poutine, which is a Canadian favorite. Poutine ("puu-teen") consists of French fries with cheese curds sprinkled on them and the entire pile covered with brown chicken gravy. It must be an acquired taste. Doug did eat some of them, but left most of the "delectables" on the plate (LOLOL). Patrise had chicken wings and a large salad. The food was incredibly fresh and literally the vegetables in Patrise’s salad tasted as if they had just been harvested.
We stayed in the room working and relaxing for the remainder of the day, before we went to dinner at the dining room in the Resort. We both even dressed up a little to make the experience seem more special.

This resort is the only thing around for miles -- excuse me kilometers -- so there are no other choices, if you want to eat fine dining. The chef outdid himself with fiddlehead fern pasta topped with local scallops and shrimp in a crème sauce. We both had this selection, trying to stick to the seafood theme while in this area of the Atlantic. We both enjoyed the meal. However, we skipped his dessert options and went out to the RV to retrieve Patrise’s lemon blueberry tart, and we ate that with a couple of cups of decaf coffee as our dessert in our room. Yummy!!!
We were both able to accomplish a lot today, because we had a strong, sustainable Wifi internet service for the bulk of the day. Patrise was even able to watch some reruns of vet shows, Chicago Med and Chicago Fire on television. It wasn’t her cooking shows, westerns, or Dr. Pol, but it was nice seeing television at all.
We turned in around eleven knowing that we needed to get up at a decent hour in the morning in order to have breakfast, checkout and head out to Nova Scotia.

(Tomorrow, we are headed to Amherst, Nova Scotia, which location you can see at the center of the map. At the top right you see Charlottetown, PEI. We will recross the Confederation Bridge, linking PEI to New Brunswick, and take a short drive through New Brunswick to get to Nova Scotia. Amherst is the first "major" settlement in Nova Scotia.)
Here are two additional photos of the hotel, because we did not travel anywhere today.

I can't believe it; no litter! 😛 And, you and Patrise LOOK like you had massages. Was it snowing on the road to Halifax? Congratulations to Patrise for her fidelity to her profession, and their loyalty to her!
