Today was another beautiful day and we took it really easily getting started in the morning and checking out of the hotel. Our journey to Niantic would only take about an hour, so we were not in a hurry to get there before dark. We took a little extra time to drop by New London, Connecticut, to get Doug a haircut and to see the lovely river town.

(Crossing the Thames River, but not in London, England. LOLOL!)
Niantic is the only community on the Connecticut coast where the “Main Street” runs parallel to the Long Island Sound. The Village of Niantic is the traditional center of East Lyme, Connecticut. Our KOA Campground was in East Lyme. It was a medium-sized facility nestled in a wooden area. It is quiet and beautiful to see. We played horseshoes, corn-hole, ping pong, and chess with large-scaled plastic chess pieces. It got too warm for us so we stopped playing after a while and went back to the RV.

(Patrise is not pleased with her first round of horseshoes.)

(We abandoned ping pong after about 10-12 minutes. The ball was dead, it barely bounced.)

(Giant set chess was fun, but the sun was more determined than we were.)
Patrise started working on making a special barbecue dinner for Memorial Day. She was actually able to pull off barbecued salmon, potato salad and green beans. Delicious. I cooked the salmon on the outdoor fire pit. After dinner, we made smores over the fire.

(Dinner is complete. TIME for S'MORES!!)

(Fire for dinner and dessert)

(Teeing up the marshmallows)

(Ooooooooweeee! Toasty, gooey goodness on the way!)
We finished the evening watching TV and reading. Patrise has now finished her third book!
Tomorrow we travel to New York City! We will be there four days for the Carnegie Hall concert: Monday is arrival and setup; Tuesday is first rehearsal; Wednesday is dress rehearsal; Friday is the concert.)
The only thing I know about Connecticut is that Doris and Willie James lived there. How did Patrise cook salmon on an open fire? I know it tasted good.😊 Where did you park the RV? Where will you park it in New York?
