Today's entry will be brief. After a quick breakfast at the hotel, I went to Barge Design Solutions for all day board meetings. It was interesting participating in my first board meeting for a private company. There are certainly similarities to the board meetings of nonprofits, but there are most certainly differences. For reasons of corporate privacy, I will not disclose details of our discussions. Suffice it to say, that Barge is experiencing solid growth and Nashville and Middle Tennessee are a very hot growth market.
Patrise spent the day touring Nashville. She took the on-and-off Old Tours of Nashville and learned a lot about the history of the town, in addition to seeing sites and attractions throughout town. She had lunch at Puckett's, a local eating establishment and enjoyed pulled pork, collard greens, green beans and baked beans. She reported that the green beans and greens were particularly delicious!
In the late afternoon, we reconnected at the hotel. We tried making reservations at one of the finer restaurants nearby, with little luck. Eventually, we were able to get reservations for the restaurant we originally tried to reserve. It's amazing what happens when you talk to the right person. Although we were rebuffed earlier, when Patrise called Bob's Steak and Chophouse again, about an hour later, the hostess said I can squeeze you in if you can be here in fifteen minutes. PERFECT!! since our hotel was only a five-minute walk away.
We hurried to Bob's and had a wonderful meal. After stuffing ourselves, we walked back to the hotel and spent the next two hours making reservations at RV campsites in the Shenandoah Valley, Charlestown, West Virginia, Morgantown, West Virginia, and Gettysburg, PA.
A few pictures from the day.
